FAQs

WHY DO I NEED DERMAL FILLERS?

Wrinkles, sunken cheekbones, and lines all cause the face to lose the youthful appearance it once had. Years of sun exposure, dramatic weight loss, genetics, and the normal ageing process can result in a depletion of fat tissue and the loss of skin elasticity. Dermal fillers are designed to rejuvenate the appearance by replacing lost facial volume, smoothing facial lines, and erasing wrinkles. Comprised of Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance, dermal fillers restore a healthy fullness to the facial features and skin by binding themselves to water molecules within the body. Hyaluronic Acid goes one step further to achieve great skin, as well. Hyaluronic Acid encourages the natural production of collagen, which provides a continued improvement to the features.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

One of the most popular methods of facial rejuvenation, dermal fillers are a non-surgical, minimally-invasive way to smooth your skin and subtly enhance your natural beauty. The dermal fillers used at Elite Aesthetics are comprised of hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in your body. When injected directly underneath the skin, dermal fillers bind with water to create instant volume, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles for a look that is refreshed and relaxed. This treatment utilizes a fine needle, with most patients experiencing minimal to zero discomforts. At Elite Aesthetics, we offer a variety of hyaluronic dermal fillers including Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Silk, Juvederm, and Juvederm Voluma.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR DERMAL FILLERS?

During your consultation with Dr. Lieman, factors such as your health, medical history, cosmetic goals and expectations will be discussed in order to determine if hyaluronic acid fillers are right for your aesthetic concerns.

ARE DERMAL FILLERS SAFE?

All filler injectables used by Dr. Lieman have been clinically tested and have proven safety profiles. Major side effects are rare, but slight bruising, swelling, redness, or itching at injection sites is common and temporary.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

There is no downtime required after a dermal filler treatment. Initially, patients may experience mild swelling and redness, although these will resolve quickly. Bruising at the injection site is not unusual. This can take up to a week to fade. Results from a dermal filler treatment will be immediately evident. The fillers will remain soft and malleable under the skin for up to 72 hours. It is critical that patients do not rub vigorously or manipulate the treatment area for the first few days, so as not to displace the filler.
