Elite’s new location is beautiful and being there is a truly relaxing experience. I tried their new Salt Sanctuary and it was remarkable. I was very skeptical, but as someone who has moderate/severe asthma, I felt an incredible difference in about 30 minutes. I went from feeling tight chested and wheezy to being able to breathe deeply and clearly. I’ll be going back soon!

Dry salt therapy is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive treatment that utilizes a halogenerator to grind, crush, and disperse micron-sized particles into the salt room to help aid respiratory concerns and skin conditions.
Super Absorbent: Dry salt acts like a sponge attracting foreign substances along its path through the respiratory tract. The dry salt can be imagined behaving like a toothbrush that cleans the respiratory system removing the build-up of foreign elements that cause various respiratory ailments and conditions.
Anti-Inflammatory: Inhaled dry salt particles may help to reduce inflammation in the entire respiratory tract and widen the airway passages. A clean respiratory system naturally results in higher oxygen intake, increased energy, and an improved immune system.
Anti-Bacterial: The dry salt particles act as an anti-bacterial agent, dissolving bacteria and pollutants lodged in the respiratory tract. These are then either coughed up or naturally expelled by the body.
The Salt Sanctuary micro-climate influences our body’s cellular osmolarity in the nasal passageways. When salt particles are inhaled, they land on the airway linings and draw water inside, thinning mucus and activating self-cleaning. Breathing becomes much easier, and people feel better almost immediately. Simultaneously, the salt crystals are absorbed into the layers of the skin and bind moisture there. The presence of sodium ions is essential for muscle contractions, including those of the most important muscle, the heart. Salt is also important for removing the acidity from brain cells, thus improving brain function.
You can wear one of our Elite luxury robes and slippers OR loose, comfortable, clothing that you can relax in. If you are using dry salt therapy for a skin condition, you’ll want to have that area exposed.
Based on your condition and symptoms, this can vary. For best results, the Salt Therapy Association recommends a series of treatments. Some individuals prefer to use dry salt therapy as a continuous preventative measure.
There are no potentially harmful side effects of dry salt therapy. The treatment is completely natural. A slight cough or a runny nose is possible, but this is simply the salt working to remove mucus and toxins from the lungs and airways.
Inhaling salt goes back to ancient times. It was first noted that salt miners did not succumb to the bubonic plaque which killed 50 million people. In fact, the benefits of salt therapy were first noted in a book published in 1843 by Dr. Felix Boczkowski. Dr. Boczkowski, a physician at the Wieliczka salt mine in Poland,(referred to as the father of Halotherapy) observed a curiously low incidence of respiratory conditions in salt miners. He established the first respiratory hospital inside Wieliczka Salt Mine.
